General information Keeping its leadership position in education and science among similar faculties of Russian universities, the Faculty of Geography, Geoecology and Tourism of Voronezh State University is one of the key national centres of geography, ensuring the fundamental nature, consistency, and sustainable development of Russian ecological and geographical (geoecological) education. |

Academic staff | 41 lecturers including 7 professors, 24 doctors, and 7 assistant professors. |
Study facilities/resources | 2 academic, research, and production centres based on human and scientific resources cooperation with the Institute of Geography RAS (on the problems of regional landscape and environmental assessment and geoinformation mapping), and with the Voronezh Regional Centre for Hygiene and Epidemiology (on the problems of human ecology and the assessment of population health risks associated with the state of the environment). Educational and research laboratories: an ecological-analytical laboratory, a hydro meteorological laboratory, a laboratory of geoinformatics, a geoinformation mapping laboratory, a higher plant herbarium, and a room of geography and geoecology named after F.N. Milkov. |

International grant research projects | TEMPUS IV (name of the project: The Protection of Population Living in Radiation-Contaminated Territories HUMAN). The main goal of the project is to develop an interdisciplinary Master's programme and a postgraduate programme aimed at ensuring human safety for people living in territories that have suffered as a result of nuclear power station and nuclear fuel reprocessing plant accidents.
