The speciality “Philology” provides the opportunity to become a researcher, a teacher of philology, including teaching Russian as a foreign language, a teacher of Russian language and literature, become an editor, a copywriter, a forensic linguistics specialist, a journalist, or a writer.
The speciality “Publishing” trains specialists in the field of book publishing, editing, typesetting, design, printed matter advertising, and publishing business.
The speciality “Library and Information Activity” trains how to work with information, documents, and databases, how to manage the work of libraries.
The speciality “Arts and Humanities” trains designers, further education teachers in the field of art and culture, and curators of art projects.
Our graduates work in different areas: in schools and universities, in mass media, in publishing houses and printing offices, in administrative structures, in design and advertising agencies.
Specialities:
The faculty has highly-qualified academic teaching staff, including 13 Professors, 31 Associate Professors, 33 PhDs, 17 DSc, among them: 1 Honoured Scientist of the Russian Federation, 2 Honoured Workers of Higher Education of the Russian Federation, 1 member of the Presidential Council for Russian Language, 2 active members of the Academy of Geopolitical Issues, 1 Academician of the Academy of Pedagogical and Social Sciences, and 2 members of the Union of Russian Writers.
The faculty has been offering programmes to international students from European and Asian countries since 1966, including a master’s degree programme “Russian as a foreign language and intercultural communication”.
Students of the faculty are offered one-term programmes at the universities of Germany, Czech Republic, Serbia, and Hungary.
There are special further education programmes with internships and advanced training for students and teachers from European and Asian countries.
