A new anti-tuberculosis drug “aldosan” for veterinary medicine was developed at the Faculty of Pharmaceutics of VSU. The patented synthetic polymeric preparation, based on natural compounds, is capable of inhibiting the formation of carcinogen-polymer complexes of exogenous and endogenous character, as well as stimulating immunity.

The absence of harmful side effects on organism, low general toxicity and prolonged duration of its action differ it from isoniazid, which is widely used nowadays. This drug has been extensively tested on livestock animals, fur-bearing animals and humans, and proved itself as a highly efficient agent for prevention and treatment of tuberculosis.

The Dean of the Faculty Professor Aleksey Slivkin told us, that the creation of this drug was the result of systematic study of the subject at the Faculty of Pharmaceutics of VSU. At the present time the research at the Faculty is going on, and the university scientists have recently obtained a number of new patents in this area.
