As a participant of the Youth Science Innovation Competition Ruslan Kharisov, the student of the Faculty of Computer Sciences of VSU, has developed a program, which enables to input the information by means of detecting the movement of a human hand. This technology is supposed to be used for higher security of use of bank cards, and also for the development of the diagnostic methods of detection and study of human diseases, connected with motor disorders.
In this technology thermal imaging cameras are used. In the narrow infrared spectrum it is possible to detect a hand in any conditions, and, what is more, to create a volume representation of a human hand.
In the course of this project Ruslan Kharisov has created a C++ program, which captures an image of the operator’s hand from the webcam, processes it and allows to return the token. Thus, an intuitive interface for data entry in a computer was created.
At the moment, similar systems are being developed, in particular, by the VSU partner, the Microsoft Company, however they are used only in the entertainment industry.
