VSU is taking part in Moscow International Forum for Innovative Development “Open Innovations”

Voronezh State University is taking part in Moscow International Forum for Innovative Development “Open Innovations”, held for the second time on October 31 – November 2, 2013. The Forum is a global discussion platform dedicated to emerging technologies and furthering innovation prospects and collaboration worldwide.

Within the Forum program, many Russian and international companies will introduce their innovative products and technologies at the Open Innovations Expo–2013 Exhibition. Among the participants of the Exhibition will also be development institutions and Russian and foreign state authorities that determine the technological development policy.

Jointly with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Voronezh State University will introduce 7 projects, chosen during the competition.

1. Stereophotogrammetrical active 3D scan system Russian3DScanner.
The device can produce 3D models of real objects with the use of digital camera or projector. The system designer is the winner of the BIT–2011 Contest and graduate of the Computer Science Department of VSU, Andrey Krovopuskov.

2. Measurement system for fiber heat insulation material humidity control.
This working equipment is used for fiber heat insulation material humidity control (viscous and discrete material control available in vacuum). The system was designed by the head of the VSU Shared Scientific Equipment Center, PhD in Chemistry Aleksey Kharin.

3. Solar thermal collectors SCPPC–5.
This is a device for transforming solar energy into thermal to heat water. Solar collectors are applied in central heating and hot water supply systems both for domestic and industrial uses. The project manager is Alexandr Maximenko, Executive Director of the VSU Small Innovative Enterprise OOO "Plasma Innovation Technologies".

4. SEP5001T.
A power supply for alternating current circuits of the railway rolling equipment. Designed by Alexander Bajev, Executive Director of the VSU Small Innovative Enterprise OOO "Power Circuit Engineering".

5. Seeds and grain fiber-optic separator model.
The unique technology applies fiber-optic laser technologies to separate grains and seeds with both visible and hidden faults. Designed by OAO «Voronezhselmash» agricultural machinery and Voronezh State University. The project performed under the RF Governmental Decree № 218. Project manager – Eduard Algazinov, Head of the Computer Science Department of VSU. Designer – PhD Vladimir Shulgin.

6. 14 dB Wi-Fi beam antenna system based on 802.11n standard.
The antenna is used in Wi-Fi networks based on IEEE 802.11n standard. 802.11n increases the data rate by 4 as compared to 802.11g standard equipment. The data transfer rate can reach up to 300 Mbit/s. Project manager – Associate professor at the Chair of Electronics of the Physics Department of VSU, Executive Director of the VSU Small Innovative Enterprise OOO "NanoImpuls", PhD, Grigory Uskov.

7. Human-computer interface.
The system allows to control peripheral devices by communication channel without using the keyboard. Designed by the Associate Professor at the Chair of Digital Technologies of the Computer Science Department of VSU, PhD, Yaroslav Turovsky.

Voronezh State University has a great potential and is ready to collaborate with other organizations in the sphere of research and innovations. The University is going to continue taking part in Moscow International Forum for Innovative Development “Open Innovations”.
