VSU Rector Prof. Endovitskyy addressed the audience with the words of welcome:
– In November, there are a number of significant dates for VSU. November 12 is our university's birthday. That was the day when classes started here after the university was moved from Derpt to Voronezh. Today is just as important – the students are celebrating their day! It is International Students' Day. Thank you, guys, for being so great! We love you! May you be healthy and have fun studying!
After the Rector's speech, the university students and staff were welcomed to have a celebratory lunch all together.
Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Social Development Oleg Grishaev told us about how International Students' Day is annually celebrated at VSU:
– We have celebrated this day for 8 years in a row, putting together a sweet buffet for all the participants.
Later, Dr Oleg Grishaev and Andrey Startsev (Chairman of the Students' Union) offered their congratulations and awarded letters of recognition to the students having major achievements in sports, the social and cultural life of the university, and the development of the student councils.
