The Department of Romance and Germanic Philology of Voronezh State University is actively involved in implementing the TEMPUS project on "Modernising European Language Teaching through the Introduction of Online Technologies in the Process of Teacher Training" (544161-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-UK-TEMPUS-JPCR Aston University «Developing the Teaching of European Languages: Modernising Language Teaching through the development of blended Masters Programmes»).
From 12th–26th January, Freiburg University of Education (Germany) held a special workshop for the participants in the project. VSU was represented by Professor Lyubov Tsurikova (Department of English Philology), Associate Professor Elena Chaika (Department of English Philology), and Associate Professor Marina Scherbakova (Department of German Philology).
The workshop resulted in determining the topics and content of the joint master's programme "Teaching Foreign Languages with the Help of Online Technologies", and the ways of organising students' independent work in a virtual educational environment. The Workshop also determined the work groups responsible for certain didactic modules of the programme and their content. Each group includes a member of each of the ten universities taking part in the project. Elena Chaika was assigned leader of the group working on the programme's main module - Modern Technologies in Teaching Foreign Languages.
