On 27th March, Atomic Energy Information Centre hosted regional final contest "Atomic science and technology" that has been held with support of State Atomic Energy Corporation ‘Rosatom’ since 2006. Representatives of the Department of Pre-university Education of Voronezh State University and the Faculty of Physics of Voronezh State University worked as jury members in the framework of the partnership programme. During the final regional stage of the contest senior school pupils of Voronezh region had to defend their research projects.
The contest aims at spotting talented children and supporting their creativity. Under supervision of experienced teachers the school pupils developed projects on a wide variety of topics relating to the nature of radiation, history and prospects of peaceful application of atomic energy, and history of the industry. They also experienced presenting their research results at a scientific conference.
