On 23rd April, a presentation session for representatives of ore mining industry companies was held in Voronezh State University. The event was organised by the Department of Innovations and Enterprise Management headed by the VSU Vice-Rector for Innovations and Technology Commercialization Tatiana Davydenko.
Among the guests were directors of major enterprises of Voronezh region specialising in extraction and processing of commercial minerals, as well as mine-mill and mining industries equipment, such as ZAO Khokholsk sand quarry and OAO Voronezh mine group.
During the event representatives of the companies met the Rector of Voronezh State University professor Dmitry Endovitskyy, visited the Centre for Collective Use of Scientific Equipment, watched a presentation of VSU innovation projects and educational programmes. The participants of the event discussed problems and prospectives of ore mining industry technological development, as well as possibilities of cooperation between enterprises and academic society aimed at realisation of joint innovation projects and specialists' training and further professional training.
A lot of attention was paid to the presentation of key development areas of OAO Voronezh mine group given by CEO of the company Aleksandr Strizhakov. The company is planning to expand in the nearest future, thus providing a lot of possibilities for cooperation and realisation of joint innovation projects.
The ore industry representatives showed a lot of interest in the scientific equipment of the VSU Centre for Collective Use, possibilities of joint programmes aimed at enterprises staff renewal with university-based training of corresponding specialists, possibilities of realisation of joint projects in business processes automation at enterprises, ecological projects, small innovative businesses and VSU research institutes specialising in geological exploration, ecological monitoring, etc.
The guests were most interested in the Faculty of Geology - the only one in Central Federal District. Its graduates are going to form the personnel pool for the key ore mining enterprises of the Central Black Earth Region.
As a result, some top managers of the companies participating in the presentation session expressed their interest in discussing realisation of prospective joint innovation projects. It is quite obvious that in the nearest future some of the companies and the university are going to start mutually beneficial cooperation which will give way to technological development.
