On 22 May, the top management of the OAO Voronezhsintezkauchuk met with representatives of the Voronezh regional cluster of oil and gas, and chemical equipment manufacturers, of which Voronezh State University is a member. During the meeting representatives of an AO SIBUR-Holding subsidiary had a chance to see what local manufacturers have to offer.
The meeting began with a speech from the general director of OAO Voronezhsintezkauchuk who emphasized that now "the plant is looking for suppliers of locally produced alternative equipment equivalent to the ones installed at the premises of the plant, as well as maintenance services for the existing facilities." To show the plant capacities the participants of the meeting were offered a tour demonstrating the plant facilities. Each visitor had a chance to observe the production process, and see the opportunities and benefits of cooperation.
Moreover, during the event the participants of the oil and gas cluster presented their enterprises and their products.
VSU was represented by an officer of the Department of Innovation and Business, and the director of the Head of the VSU innovative business incubator Alexander Khvan. In his presentation he talked about opportunities for cooperation between the university, enterprises of the cluster, and OAO Voronezhsintezkauchuk, including cooperation within the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation № 218 "State support of development of cooperation between Russian universities and organisations that realise integrated hi-tech production projects", Federal Target programmes, educational programmes, and other joint projects. It was agreed to continue the dialogue concerning cooperation that can be beneficial for both parties.
It should be mentioned that the VSU Department of Innovation and Business organises various events aimed at searching for new industrial partners and the introduction of the university scientists' developments into production. In the first 6 months of 2015 VSU Department of Innovation and Business has organised presentation sessions for representatives of industrial companies specialising in radioelectronic and microelectronic engineering, ore industry companies, and enterprises from Kursk, Novovoronezh, Lipetsk and Belgorod.
