24 July, a workshop "Using genuine nanomaterials in sensors of industrial toxicants and biomedical devices" within the framework of the ECONANOSORB project was held at Voronezh State University. The workshop was organised by three partner universities – Voronezh State University, G.F. Morozov's Voronezh State Forest Engineering University, and Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg (Germany). Those who had no chance to attend the workshop in person, could participate online via Skype.
– The aim of such events is to make people look on the problems in another way. All the participants of the workshop share their results with the others, and this stimulates further research. Such workshops help developing new ideas – said Dmitry Zhukalin, post-graduate student at the Department of Semiconductor physics and microelectronics, the Faculty of Physics, VSU.
The aim of the ECONANOSORB project is to establish the basis for joint environmental projects with European scientific organisations. Various universities and scientific centres in Spain, Italy, Germany, Slovakia, Russia, and Ukraine take part in the project. At VSU the project is realised at the Faculty of Physics. The project will last 4 years – till May 2016.
