11–25 July, VSU students, members of the VSU sports tourism centre "Belaya Gora", took part in mountain hiking tours of the 1 and 2 levels of difficulty in the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania. The students divided in two groups according to the difficulty level. The first group went to the heights Stoletiya and Dashivetsk, while the second – to the Western Aikhva and Southern Belag.
Although the tour was not easy, the students enjoyed themselves a lot and are happy to tell everyone about their adventures.
– I enjoyed the tour a lot. Ascending the mountains was difficult, there were lots of obstacles, such as river fords, falling stones, slippery grass, and steep slopes. But it was worth it, as when we got to the top and saw the mountains around us and the rivers and valleys far below, we forgot everything. We had clouds lying at our feet. That was unforgettable. Besides, taking part in the tour, I met new friends and learned a lot about the history of the Caucasus, – says Elizaveta Zhilyakova, a student at the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics.
