On 22nd March, the Head of the Department of Physics FCFYM of the National University of Trujillo (Trujillo, Peru) Dr. Jose Angel Roldan Lopez visited Voronezh State University. The purpose of the visit was the Framework agreement for cooperation between the National University of Trujillo and VSU that was concluded recently and is aimed at development of research, educational, and cultural cooperation. The agreement stipulates academic staff, researchers and students exchange joint publications, joint projects and research and innovation support.
The visit started with meeting the Vice-Rector for Research and Informatisation Vasily Popov and the Head of the VSU Department of Innovations and Enterprise Management Alexei Kharin. The participants of the meeting determined possible areas of cooperation: joint research, students exchange, business cooperation, and teaching Russian as a foreign language, among other things as a part of the programme for foreign students “Business with Russia: political, cultural, and economic research of the Russian market” and the distance learning course “Russian as a language of communication”, that were presented in Madrid. Dr. Lopez said that the Peruvian government provides active support in such areas as biotechnologies, informatisation, social innovations, environmental protection, and material science. He expressed his hope that universities will be involved in active cooperation in these areas.
The visit was followed by a meeting with an associate professor of the Department of Solid-State Physics and Nanostructures of the Faculty of Physics Sergei Turistchev who told the guest about his experience of international cooperation. The parties discussed areas for further cooperation, possibilities for joint research, staff exchange and joint publications, and agreed upon the plans concerning development of goals for joint work. The guest visited laboratories of the Department of Solid-State Physics and Nanostructures where he was shown unique scientific equipment and the Centre for Collective Use of Scientific Equipment of Voronezh State University.
