The Career Development Centre of Voronezh State University has recently introduced a new form of communication between our students and their prospective employers – industrial enterprises of the Voronezh Region. The centre has organised a series of excursions to the enterprises for our last-year students in order to help them plan their future career and find a job.
On May 6, 13 and 20, VSU students had an opportunity to visit the oil and specialised fats production plant in Alekseyevka, and OAO EFKO training centre "Biruch – New Technologies”. Students of the Faculty of Chemistry and the Faculty of Biology and Soil Sciences could see the equipment of the OAO Efirnoye (EFKO) introduced within the framework of a project conducted by the Department of Natural Compounds Chemistry.
On May 26, students of the Faculty of Chemistry and the Faculty of Economics visited open days held at OAO Konstruktorskoye byuro khimavtomatiki (Chemical Automatics Design Bureau) and OOO Kellogg Rus. At OAO Konstruktorskoye byuro khimavtomatiki our students learned about the role of the enterprise in studying space and designing the nuclear-missile shield of the Russian Federation. They could also see unique exhibits, such as a nuclear thermal rocket and a dynamic gas laser. At OOO Kellogg Rus, VSU’s students were shown the whole production process of crackers as well as an experimental model presenting all the processes in miniature.
On May 27, students of the Faculty of Economics visited UK Efko, where they watched the operations of the financial department, and could feel the corporate atmosphere. At the end of the tour, the students had the opportunity to test their knowledge and skills.
Both the students and prospective employers welcomed the new format. The excursions will continue in September.
