Today the RUR agency published the RUR Research Performance World University Rankings 2016. This year the international ranking included 23 Russian universities with Voronezh State University taking the 12th position. Worldwide, VSU takes the 659th place.
RUR Research Performance World University Rankings ranks universities by five parameters: normalised citation impact, citation per papers, papers per academic and research staff, research reputation, and international co-authored papers. The key characteristics of the RUR Research Performance World University Rankings are as follows:
- Reliable source – one of the world’s most reliable sources of data concerning higher education institutions is used as a source of feed data – Institutional Profiles of Thomson Reuters.
- Balanced methodology – RUR Research Performance uses equivalent criteria and weighing coefficients for each of the 5 indicators is 20%.
- Inclusiveness – any university can take part in the ranking without any restrictions.
The RUR rankings system includes rankings dating between 2010 to the present time. To evaluate the performance of 850 leading world universities from 80 countries the RUR rankings system assesses the higher education performance of institutions using 20 separate indicators within four areas: teaching, research, international diversity, and financial sustainability. A number of additional rankings is also published, for example, RUR Research Performance and RUR Reputation.
