On November 1–5 the next festival “Jazz Province” will take place in Voronezh. This forum has been held in Russia 21 times. Voronezh citizens will have the opportunity to listen to the best jazz performers, many of them will be visiting Russia for the first time.
This year the festival will be attended by over 50 musicians from 12 countries – Russia, USA, Norway, UK, Switzerland, Estonia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany, Brazil, Israel, and Finland. Among the participants there will be Bloom Effect (Switzerland), Saimaa Quartet (Finland), Scott Henderson Trio (USA), Marion Cowing and the Eric Alexander Quartet (USA), the duet of Alon & Joca (Israel-Brazil), Alon & Joca (Germany) and others. The special guest of the festival will be Boris Andrianov, a famous classical cellist. The concerts will be held at three city public spaces: At the Philharmonic Hall, the Concert Hall at 17 Teatralnaya Street, and the Event-Hall in “Grad” shopping centre. Tickets are available now.
The organisers say that the programme will be very intense and varied. Apart from the concerts, jazz lovers will have a chance to visit additional events, including different lectures, artistic meetings, open rehearsals, and much more. The festival “Jazz Province” was founded by a Kursk jazz musician Leonid Vintsekevich in 1996. Over the 21 years of the festival's existence it has raised a generation of young music lovers, formed a special intellectual community, and brought together hundreds of jazz musicians from all over the world.
