On 2 November, schoolchildren from Novovoronezh visited Voronezh State University. The pupils had a tour of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences Faculty as a part of the VSU – LIVE! project. The head of the laboratory of biodiversity at the Department of Ecology and Systematics of Invertebrates, Olga Selivanova, showed the guests around the Zoology museum.
Then, the schoolchildren visited the Department of Pre-university Education of the Academic Board of Voronezh State University, where they learnt about various specialities and programmes taught at VSU. They were also given advice on how to prepare for the state exams and studies at the university. Additionally, all the teachers and pupils were invited to take part in pre-university events.
During the school holidays, the pupils of lyceum № 1, school № 70, and Nomos college also visited the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology at Voronezh State University as a part of the VSU – LIVE! programme. They took part in the “Student for a day” project, an event carried out by the Department of Pedagogy and Pedagogical Psychology. The schoolchildren participated in the following public classes taught by the academic staff of the Department of Pedagogy and Pedagogical Psychology: “Psychogenetics” (Associate Professor Yu.A. Goncharova), “Children’s Community Pedagogy and Psychology”, and “Teenage and Adolescence Psychology” (senior lecture S.V. Popova). The children learnt about the differences between studying at school and at university, how to excel in their speciality, and discussed the peculiarities of inclusive education with the third and forth year students of the Psychological and Pedagogical Education programme. One of the programmes offered by the faculty, Psychology for Special Needs and Special Needs Education, is dedicated to this problem.
