VSU has become one of the participants of the international Apple iOS Developer University Program. Now our students will have an opportunity to use cutting-edge technologies and development tools, provided by Apple, to create innovative applications for iPad, iPhone, and other iOS devices. All the tools will be available for free. The iOS Developer University Program allows instructors and professors to create a development team with up to 200 students.
It is a free program designed for higher education institutions looking to introduce iOS development into their curriculum. The programme is aimed at improving students’ skills and enhancing their knowledge in the sphere of iOS development.
The programme gives students, postgraduates, and lecturers opportunities to:
- create iOS development teams;
- get access to various development tools, such as Push technology, iAd, iCloud, IOT, Game Center, HomeKit, and TestFlight, that can be used to create innovative applications;
- test and debug their applications, and install them directly on Apple mobile devices;
- distribute their applications through the App Store.
The programme also provides early access to the suite of tools included in the iOS SDK (beta software and XCode development framework). The iOS Developer University Program allows students and professors within the same team to share their development applications with each other through email, or by posting them to a private website for presentation and grading purposes. It is also a great advantage, as iOS applications are usually only available via the App Store.
VSU has been included in the programme thanks to Andrey Volodin, a student of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics, who won the Worldwide Developers Conference Scholarships and completed a training course at Apple in June.
