On 24 January, a meeting between the rectors of the partner universities within the Consortium of Russian universities that implement a joint master’s programme “International Human Rights Protection” was held at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia. Among the participants were rectors from nine universities. Voronezh State University was represented by Rector Dmitry Endovitsky and the vice rector for International Cooperation and Marketing, Oleg Belenov.
During the meeting, the representatives of universities discussed issues relating to the functioning of the joint master’s programme. The format of the following meetings between rectors of the partner universities within the Consortium was also agreed.
The master’s programme “International Human Rights Protection” has been implemented in Russia with the support of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation since 2009. In September 2016, the first master's degree programme was started at Voronezh State University. The programme is implemented jointly between the Faculty of International Relations and the Faculty of Law.
It provides students with an opportunity to do separate courses in partner universities and do pre-graduate practical training in international universities. The core of the master’s programme is comprised of disciplines in international politics and international law.
