Between 29 March and 10 April, a delegation from the University of Göttingen headed by the dean of the Faculty of Theology, professor Martin Tamcke, visited Voronezh State University.
The visit was part of a project implemented within the programme “EUinDepth: European Identity, Cultural Diversity, and Political Change” (Marie Curie Actions of the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Union) following the results of a competition held in 2013.
The delegation had a meeting with professor Oleg Belenov, Head of the International Cooperation Department, and discussed the prospects of extending the cooperation between our universities within the framework of Erasmus+ programme.
The guests visited the Regional Scientific Library of VSU, where they met professor Arkady Minakov, the director of the library, and discussed academic exchange programmes for master’s degree students studying the “History of the Orthodox Church”. They also had meetings with students and academic staff of the Faculty of International Relations, the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology, and the Faculty of Philology.
The delegation also visited a Voronezh seminary, and Martin Tamcke talked about his scientific interests and answered questions about sectarianism and theological education in Europe.
