One of the most spectacular large-scale events of the Platonov Art Festival, the street theatre parade, will be held in an unusual format this year. The march will take place on 12 June at night time (from 9pm). Famous theatres from Russia and Europe, including Voronezh companies, will march along Prospekt Revolutsii from Andrei Platonov’s monument to Lenin square.
The first street theatre parade was held during the Platonov festival in 2014. Every year it attracts about 15 thousand spectators. For three years, the event was held at daytime. This year, the march will start after the sunset. Darkness will allow actors to use not only traditional means of expression and but also various light effects. The event promises to be absolutely fantastic. The participants of the parade will be announced later.
The management of the Platonov Festival invites choreographic, circus, and theatre companies to take part in the parade. To become a participant of the parade the team have to have at least 10 members. The application should include the presentation of a prepared performance (a photo or a video) or a detailed description of its conception. The costumes should have luminous elements. Priority will be given to projects that offer an original and interesting idea presented artistically. Applications can be submitted till 15 May. The application form can be filled in on the website.
