On 17 May, within the framework of the international forum "European Higher Education Area: Ways of Development”, VSU rector, Dmitry Endovitsky, had a meeting with Torsten Ites, a German Embassy member in charge of relations with the Voronezh region.
They discussed the development of partnership between VSU and universities in Germany.
“Germany is one of our key international partners. Over 10 years ago VSU founded the German Alumni Association – DAWU. There is a German Language and Culture Centre at VSU, which helps us promote our partnership with Germany in the Voronezh region”, – said Dmitry Endovitsky.
Voronezh State University has been actively collaborating with various German universities. Thus, we have a joint academic programme and several academic mobility programmes with Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg. We also implement several joint projects with Humboldt University (Berlin). Jörg Becker, Vice-Rector for strategic planning and a Quality Assurance Manager of Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, is an Honorary Doctor of VSU and the head of the Department of ERP Systems and Business Processes Management of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics of VSU.
Torsten Ites thanked VSU for a warm welcome and said that he is very interested in all the forums and conferences held by VSU, and takes part in them himself. He also said that the meeting was of great importance and expressed hope for further development of partnership with our university.
