Voronezh State University is actively involved in various international activities: cooperation programmes with the European Union, Tempus and Erasmus+ projects, double degree programmes, and joint research programmes with American universities. Cooperation with China is especially important for our university. VSU is one of the leaders in the Russian Federation in cooperating with various organisations and institutions in China.

Between 2002 and 2007, the university singed agreements with 21 Chinese universities. These agreements stipulate student exchange programmes, academic cooperation, joint scientific and technological projects, internships for Chinese specialists, training courses in Russian, and etc.
In 2016 and 2017, the university implemented and planned for 2018 45 major events. VSU is also actively involved in cooperation with the government of China. Since 2002, over 2,000 leading specialists and managers from various provinces of the Chinese People’s Republic completed advanced training courses.
Innovative businesses which were created as a result of cooperation between Russian and Chinese researchers conduct research in the top priority research fields.
VSU has opened three Russian Language Centres in Chinese universities.
The university was the first Russian university to develop a “Russian Virtual Classroom” online platform for Chinese pupils and students who would like to study the Russian language.
In 2014, VSU and Minzu University held a cross-year of culture and language in Voronezh and Beijing.
