Strategic Innovation Director of SAP SE (Germany), Viktor Taratukhin, paid a visit to Voronezh State University. He met the Rector, Dmitry Endovitsky, the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Sciences, Eduard Algazinov, and the Head of the Department of Information Technologies in Management, Mikhail Matveev.
VSU has been involved in cooperation with SAP for 15 years and it has proved to be very fruitful. Today, the participant of the meeting discussed the development of further joint projects.
“An important step in the development of cooperation is creating new types of training. It should be a kind of training that includes both theoretical studies and practical training in existing companies. To achieve this, we are introducing design thinking methodology and give our students an opportunity to work with SAP’s customers,” said Viktor Taratukhin.
The company cooperates with many universities and opens leading innovation centres, SAP Next-Gen Lab, all over the world. Such centre is to open in VSU.
“I try to contribute to the fair presentation of Russian universities on the world stage and I support the cooperation between Voronezh State University and Münster University in every possible way. It is very important for me to make the SAP laboratory which will open in VSU useful in practical terms,” said Viktor Taratukhin.
Many world-class companies use SAP solutions. In Russia it has become widespread in the oil and gas industry and in the nuclear energy industry. In the Central Black Earth region manufacturing, agriculture, and machine building are the priorities. The laboratory in the university will contribute to the development of SAP in these areas.
Voronezh State University is involved in active cooperation with international universities. Creating a platform where students could not only interact with regional industries but also with industries of other countries and with students from other countries is a very interesting opportunity for our university. It can create a powerful momentum in the future cooperation with large companies and also provide opportunities for new start-ups and companies.
Dmitry Endovitsky pointed out the importance of this area of cooperation both for the university and for the region as a whole.
