On 17 April, a German research community, DFG: Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, announced the results of the competition for 1 year grants to support international scientific cooperation. The grant was won by a research fellow at the Department of Solid-State Physics and Nanostructures of VSU, Elena Parinova (PhD in Physics and Mathematics) The invitation was initiated by Dr Vladimir Sivakov, the Head of the team “Semiconductor nanostructures” and the Deputy Head of the Department “Functional interfaces” at the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology (Jena, Germany).
The grant will be used to cover the expenses for visits of Russian and German teams, research projects in Voronezh, Jena, Moscow, and Berlin (using megascience facilities), and joint scientific seminars and conferences.
Voronezh State University has been involved in cooperation with the Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology (Jena, Germany) since 2013. The universities have been successfully conducting joint research programmes headed by Dr Vladimir Sivakov and Sergei Turistchev (DSc in Physics and Mathematics).
