The Head of the International Education Institute of Voronezh State University, Vladimir Rodionov, and the Head of the Methodological Support for the Educational Process of the Pre-University Training, Anna Zhiltsova, returned from a business trip to China.
The goal of the visit was to develop the declaration of intent which had been signed between VSU and a language school in Taiyuan (Shanxi, China), i.e. to discuss opportunities for organisation of cooperation events and to revise a project cooperation agreement and to sign it.
During the visit, Russian delegates learnt in detail how the school is organised and how the Russian language and other subjects are taught in Russian to Chinese schoolchildren. During many meetings with schoolchildren and their parents, the representatives of VSU talked about VSU and answered questions regarding the educational process at VSU. They also gave classes in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and Russian national studies and conducted a trial test in these subjects in Russian.
The final version of the cooperation agreement aimed at preparatory training of the Chinese schoolchildren who want to study at VSU was agreed with the administration of the school. The parties also agreed to provide support to teaching subjects in China by organising fly-in fly-out visits of experienced staff from the Institute of International Education of Voronezh State University who will use the programmes and technologies of the Institute of International Education of Voronezh State University. The agreement was signed by the director of the school, Su Suyun, and initialled by Vladimir Rodionov.
The parties agreed to hold a summer course in the Russian language and culture in 2018 at VSU for Chinese schoolchildren who are preparing to study at a university in the Russian Federation.
The members of the VSU delegation also visited the Central University of Nationalities (Minzu University, Beijing) which is a long-time partner of the Institute of International Education of Voronezh State University and with whom VSU implements academic mobility programmes for Chinese students. The delegates held negotiations with the administration of the Institute of Foreign Languages and the Faculty of the Russian Language and agreed to continue cooperation and to provide one-year internships for Chinese students. They also discussed questions concerning organisation of the educational process for interns and methodological aspects of testing in Russian as a foreign language for Chinese students at VSU.
