The Fourth Open Swimming Tournament for children was held at VSU’s swimming pool. Over 350 swimmers took part in the competition.

In addition to the children who attend swimming classes at VSU’s swimming pool there were also members of sports clubs such as Delfin, Albatros (Zheleznogorsk, the Kursk Region), AlexFitness, and a sports club from gymnasium № 1. To comply with the national and international level of sports competitions, the organisers used the system of electronic time-tracking and computer-aided recording of results, international swimming management software Meet Manager, and start lists with preset starting times. The jury of the tournament included professional judges.

There were several types of swimming disciplines – 25 and 100-meter free style, and 50-meter free style, backstroke, and breaststroke. Of great interest to the audience were the medley relays. The competition was very tough and the participants showed wonderful results. Two silver medal winners were registered in several competitions. The finishing time was registered by a computer with a precision of 0.01 second.  All the participants of the tournament received certificates and badges, and the winners were awarded with medals.

The overall winner in the medley relays was the team trained by VSU's coaches.

VSU’s swimming pool is the best equipped facility of the Central Black Earth Region. It is included in the Russian registry of sports facilities. It uses a certified system for measuring the length of the swimming lanes, which is required for the registration of national, European, and world records, and also has an electronic time-tracking system with the computer-aided recording of results. Over the two years of the swimming pool’s operation, there have been a number of records broken in the youth category for the Voronezh Region, as well as several national records in the Masters category.
