International students of Voronezh State University took part in the first international festival “Voronezh – the city of friendship” dedicated to the Day of Russia. The festival took place in the Alye Parusa park. It was organised by the National Chamber under the aegis of the governor of the Voronezh Region and the Public Chamber of Voronezh with the help of the Government of the Voronezh Region.
The programme of the festival included national music of Nigeria, Mongolia, Zambia, Guinea-Bissau, Congo, Madagascar, Afghanistan, Columbia, and Iraq, and artistic performances by the students. There were Russian national songs as well. The audience especially liked the song “I love you, Russia” by Divin Florsil from Congo, and a potpourri of Soviet songs by students from Indonesia, Madagascar, Congo, and Nigeria.
At the end, VSU international students danced a joyful Russian dance they had learned at the Leisure and Culture Centre of the Institute of International Education. The organisers of the festival and the audience thanked VSU students for their wonderful performance.
