Forbes magazine rated Voronezh State University among the top 100 Russian universities. The university was assessed by 10 parameters divided into 3 groups:
- education quality;
- graduates’ efficiency;
- Forbes factor.
The ranking includes two Voronezh universities. VSU took 69th position, and Voronezh State Medical University took 86th position.
The ranking is based on the data on the effectiveness of over 600 higher education institutions collected by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
It assesses the quality of education, the number of employed graduates, their employability in the regions, and the number of graduates who are entrepreneurs. The magazine studied the biographies of over 1,600 representatives of Russia’s elite included in the Forbes list and their children, as well as heads of commercial and state institutions, government officials, and members of the Duma.
The authors of the list say that they try to assess the quality of the education in Russia and determine the universities whose graduates are likely to become successful businessmen and prospective Forbes list members, or members of the Russian political elite.
The ranking did not consider education institutions subject to law enforcement authorities (the Ministry of the Interior, Federal Security Service, etc.) as they are not accountable to the Ministry of Education.
