On 15 August, the Rector of Voronezh state University, Dmitry Endovitsky, met the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Institute of Slavic Philology of the University of Göttingen (Göttingen, Germany), Matthias Freize. The Head of the Department of Foreign Literature of the Faculty of Philology, Andrey Faustov, also took part in the meeting.
The participants discussed the possibilities to expand cooperation between the universities. One of the new areas of collaboration is creating double bachelor’s degree programme “World Literature”. The graduates of the programme will receive two degrees: in Humanities from the University of Göttingen and in Philology from VSU.
The programme is expected to start in 2020. The parties also signed an agreement, aimed at the development of the existing cooperation.
VSU and the University of Göttingen have been involved in collaboration for 2 years. The universities are implementing a joint master’s programme “Russian Literature in the European Context” and students’ academic exchange. What is more, VSU lecturers complete internships in the partner university. The universities also work together on Erasmus+ projects.
