On 19 January, the official graduation ceremony for 13 students of the extramural master’s degree programme “Pedagogical Education” of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology was held in the conference hall of the main building of Voronezh State University. Five of the students graduated with honour degrees.
“The aim of our master's degree programme was to help you develop the skills you will need in your future work as teachers and researchers. A master's degree diploma is a good way to increase your competitiveness as professionals, no matter what area you are going to work in” said Olga Boriskina, Dean of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology, in her welcoming speech. She also congratulated the students on their graduation.
“I believe that the knowledge and skills you have acquired will play a great role in your future career, and may serve as a basis for those who want to continue their studies on PhD programmes” said Professor Ksenia Shilikhina, Head of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics.
There were also congratulations by bachelor’s degree students, student activists who had prepared a musical performance on behalf of the faculty. The graduates expressed their gratitude to their teachers for their efficiency and patience. Following the tradition, the students switched their tassels from right to left, as only those who have received a diploma have the right to do.
At the end of the ceremony, Marina Scherbakova, coordinator of the master's degree programme, congratulated the graduates and wished them all the luck with their new challenge, adult life.
