The final round of the 3rd Open Student Programming Championship of the South Russia, the 13th Student Programming Competition of the Southern Federal University "ContestSFedU–2019” concluded at the Engineering and Technology Academy of the Southern Federal University.
Over 600 schoolchildren, university students, and IT specialists from 30 regions of the Russian Federation, Ukraine, and Belarus took part in the qualifying round. Over 270 programmers competed in the final round which took place in Taganrog at the Engineering and Technology Academy of the Southern Federal University. Voronezh State University was represented by two teams which included students from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics and the Faculty of Computer Sciences.
Second place was awarded to the team from our university which consisted of a master’s student from the Faculty of Computer Sciences, Mikhail Zemlyanukhin, a master’s student from the Faculty of Computer Sciences, Alexandra Nogikh, and a PhD student from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics, Sergey Babkin. The team also received a prize for the best results among IT specialists in the competitive programming team tournament.
The prize-winner of the team tournament was a VSU team comprised of students from the Faculty of Computer Sciences, Nikita Berezhnov, Yulia Shishko, and Nikolay Paukov.
The teams are coached by the lecture from the Department of Programming and Information Technologies of the Faculty of Computer Sciences, Dmitry Solomatin, and Associate Professor from the Department of Computer Software Support of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, Informatics, and Mechanics, Oleg Gorbenko.
