On 14 May, an associate professor at the Department of Regional Studies and International Economies of the Faculty of International Relations, Dmitry Lomsadze, was invited by the Institute of Entrepreneurial Activity (Minsk, Belarus) to take part in the 26th international scientific conference “Enhancing effective management activity to create favourable conditions for the development of small and medium businesses in the Republic of Belarus”. At the plenary session, Dmitry Lomsadze gave a talk on “The institutional approach to the shadow economy: conceptual issues in theory and practice”.
Between 15 and 17 May, he gave a series of lectures on “Shadow economy” and presented the key results of the Jean Monnet project within the ERASMUS+ programme “Reducing the shadow economy: adapting the European experience to Russia” (SHEXP), which is being successfully implemented by the Department of Regional Studies and International Economies of VSU.
The presentations and lectures followed by discussions with students and teachers demonstrated that such education programmes and the research area itself are of great importance for both Russian and Belarusian universities. The administration and the academic staff of the Institute of Entrepreneurial Activity expressed their eagerness to cooperate with VSU in order to develop a new education module called “Shadow Economy” and introduce it at the institute.
Dmitry Lomsadze was awarded with a letter of acknowledgement for his contribution to the development of the scientific and educational partnership between the universities in Russia and Belarus.
