On 27 May, the university's administration headed by the rector, Dmitry Endovitsky, had a meeting with delegates from China. The Chinese delegation included He Peng, the General Secretary of the National Saline-alkali Land Strategic Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance (Liuzhou, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region), and Liu Hongwei, Deputy Director General of the operations centre of OOO Rubber Valley group (Rubber Valley, Qingdao, Shandong province). The meeting was also attended by the vice-rector for Strategic Administrative Management, Yury Bubnov, head of the Department of Ecology and Land Resources, Tatiana Devyatova, and the Head of the Chinese Centre of VSU, Yulia Svetashova.
Chinese delegates were eager to broaden the partnership with VSU. The meeting discussed the prospects of further cooperation and planned a new project to open a joint Russian-Chinese education institution in Nanning, China.
