Superjob, a search service for well-paid jobs, published a ranking of Russian universities by the salaries of young specialists who graduated from the university between 2013 and 2018 and are employed in the areas of finance and economics. The ranking listed 20 higher education institutions, including Voronezh State University.
VSU takes 17th position. It means that young specialists in the area of economics and finance can expect a monthly salary of 57,000 roubles. What is more, their salary has increases by 1,000 roubles compared to the previous year.
According to the ranking, the following six Moscow universities take the leading positions: the Higher School of Economics, Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Lomonosov Moscow State University, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, and Russian Foreign Trade Academy at the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
"It is true that training economists is considered highly popular. Every university tries to get extra-budgetary funds by opening bachelor's, master's, and specialist's programmes in the area of economics and management. However, according to the experience and to the majority of employers, economists are plenty but high quality graduates in the area are very few. This means that employers are ready to pay more for high quality education. That is why the fact that Voronezh State University takes 17th position among Russian universities by the salary of young specialists in the area of economics and finance is a big victory of ours", said the Rector of VSU, Dmitry Endovitsky.
