On 27 January, Anatoly Fomenko, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences and a professor at Moscow State University, visited Voronezh State University. He took part in the S.G. Krein Winter School of Mathematics dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Professor M.A. Krasnoselsky.
Anatoly Fomenko and his wife Tatiana, a graduate of the Faculty of Mathematics of VSU, visited the exhibitions of the VSU History Museum and the VSU Book museum. They particularly liked the 9th volume of the Description of Egypt published in France in the early 1800s.
The guests then had a meeting with the rector of VSU, Dmitry Endovitsky, in the White Hall of the VSU History Museum. The rector presented the guests with the corporate calender of Voronezh State University and a commemorative coin issued in 2018 in honour of the university's centenary.
