On 19–20 October, the 9th International Forum for Innovative Development “Open Innovations” was held online at the Skolkovo science park. Over 120 thousand people from 134 countries took part in the event. Among them was Alexey Perepelitsa, a senior lecturer at the Department of Optics and Spectroscopy of the Faculty of Physics of VSU and director of OOO “BNP Solutions”. The VSU Innovation Business Incubator helped him to take part in the forum.

Alexey Perepelitsa presented innovative projects regarding disinfection of surfaces within the exhibition of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The main idea of his project was the unique technology used to generate solutions of colloidal nanocrystals of metallic sulphides and their hybrid associates with organic dyes. Their antimicrobial effect applies to different types of bacteria and their hydrophilicity allows mixing them with water-based coating compositions.

OOO “BNP Solutions” was created in 2020 at Voronezh State University. The goal of the organisation is to use the results of research in the field of nanotechnologies. It produces antimicrobial compositions based on colloidal nanocrystals and molecules of dyes for the disinfection of surfaces.

The topic of the “Open Innovations” forum was the development of digitising due to the pandemic and technological trends of post-COVID future. Over the course of three days, 448 experts from 33 countries took part in over 100 business events. 135,770 people watched the forum online on the website of “Open Innovations” which had 121,159 unique visitors. There were also livestreams on social networks (1,653,962 views in VKontakte and over 63,300 views on YouTube) and on partner websites. The videos of all the sessions can be found on the official website of the forum.

The event was co-organised by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Moscow government, the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programmes, Skolkovo Foundation, Russian Venture Company, the Fund for the Promotion of Innovations, and VEB Ventures. South Korea was the partner country for the forum in 2020. Korean-Russian Science and technology cooperation (KORUSTEC) and Korean-Russian Innovation Centre (KRIC) acted as international partners. The title partner for the forum was the Japan Association for Trade with Russia and NIS (ROTOBO). The official partners were OAO RZhD, PAO Bank VTB, Russian Post, and Gazprombank (joint stock company). The state corporation “Rosatom” acted as a special partner.
