Between 20 and 27 July, an online summer school was held within the framework of an Erasmus+ project MAGnUS. It focused on the development of mobile applications and video games for the medical industry. The school included lectures by 16 lecturers from leading European, Russian, and Azerbaijanian universities, including four lecturers from the Faculty of Computer Sciences of VSU: Andrey Koval, Vyacheslav Tarasov, Kirill Zenin, and Vladislav Polyansky. The school was attended by over 150 students from Russia and Azerbaijan, including 26 students from the Faculty of Computer Sciences of VSU.
The MAGnUS project was launched in 2019 and involves 4 European, 3 Russian, and 3 Azerbaijani universities. As part of this project, a master’s programme “Mobile Applications and Video Games” was opened at the Faculty of Computer Sciences (the first students were enrolled last year). In 2021, the Faculty of Computer Sciences opened the Laboratory of Mobile and Gaming Systems equipped with high-performance workstations and VR devices. Students of the master’s degree programme will study at the laboratory. There they will have an opportunity to develop their own IT projects involving mobile applications and video games.
