Between 29 January and 4 February, the final of the student track of the National Technological Olympiad in genome editing took place at the science campus in Novosibirsk. All in all, 8 teams from all over Russia took part in the final. Students from the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences of VSU showed good results.

The tasks included a block of theoretical questions and work in a laboratory where Anastasia Dubovitskaya and Anastasia Krutskikh learnt methods of working with cell cultures. Daniil Bogomolov and Ekaterina Glagoleva worked with bioinformatical software and showed one of the best results in the overall competition.

“It was nice to be able to test your laboratory skills and skills of working with professional software. We met a lot of highly motivated people who are really interested in science. This is a great opportunity to exchange ideas and to collaborate in the future,” said Anastasia Dubovitskaya.

The National Technological Olympiad is coordinated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation in cooperation with the Kruzhok movement of the National Technology Initiative and is supported by ANO “Russia is a land of possibilities”, the Agency of strategic initiatives, and ANO “NTI platform”.
