On 26 May, the Institute of Latin America (ILA) of the Russian Academy of Sciences hosted a meeting of members of the regional public organisation “Association of Researchers of Ibero-American World” (ARIAW). Among the participants of the forum was Professor Aleksander Slinko, Head of the Department of International Relations and World Politics at the Faculty of International Relations of VSU.
The meeting was opened by Dmitry Razumovsky, PhD in Economics, Director of the Institute of Latin America (ILA) of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The meeting was chaired by Vladimir Davydov, Research Director of the Institute, Associate Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Among the speakers at the forum was Alexander Shchetinin, Director of the Latin American Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who noted that in the current circumstances Latin America has become a foreign policy priority for the Russian Federation. The speakers also included representatives of other universities of Russia: St. Petersburg, Kursk, Kazan, and Voronezh. Professor Alexander Slinko was elected to the Board of the Association.
