VSU students’ sports club “Khitschnye Bobry” (Rapacious Beavers) has entered the top 10 of the Association of Student Sports Clubs of Russia for the second time.
“It’s a great honour for us to enter the top 10 of the best sports clubs in Russia. It’s not easy to compete with Moscow and Kazan universities, but our team showed great results. It’s also nice to see the support by the university’s administration, especially the rector, Dmitry Endovitsky, who is always eager to support our ideas. The coming year will be very busy, and our students are getting ready, working on the content and the timetable of the events. It is possible that a night laser tag tournament “Light Battle” will be held again this autumn,” commented Igor Kotok, specialist from the Department of Student Affairs of VSU.
“It is great to be in the top 10 of the best universities according to the Association of Student Sports Clubs of Russia, but I am sure we can, and we will, take an even better position. I would like to say thank you to the Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of the Voronezh Region, Dmitry Sobolev, and to other organisations which help us in implementing our ideas. This year will not be easy, we’ve got several projects to implement, which aim to promote sports activities among students in our city,” said the badminton team captain Alexander Shvetsov.
Right now the club is reviewing the results of the summer projects and the applications for the competition “The best student sports manager and marketing specialist”. “Khitschnye Bobry” are also to visit the sports camp of the Association of Student Sports Clubs of Russia, where they will share their experience in promoting sports among students. Members of the club are also working on their projects for grant competitions. Ahead of the club is the festival of national sports “Russian sport”.
