On 28 September, Rector Dmitry Endovitsky had a meeting with Ochir Jambinov, Minister of Environment and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kalmykia, at VSU. They signed an agreement on mutually beneficial cooperation.
Ochir Jambinov had a guided tour around the university and its buildings. The scientific and technological achievements of VSU were presented to the Minister of Environment and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kalmykia. He was especially interested in the Engineering Centre.
Oleg Kozaderov, Vice-Rector for Research, Innovations, and Digitising at VSU, Viktor Nenakhov, Dean of the Faculty of Geology, as well as other employees and lecturers of the university also participated in the meeting. Dmitry Endovitsky gave an overview of the university’s history and noted that VSU celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2018. The participants of the meeting watched videos dedicated to this event and to young researchers and the graduation ceremony for master’s students of VSU.
“You and your colleagues are doing a great job,” Ochir Jambinov said to Dmitry Endovitsky and VSU representatives. “I’m sure we will succeed”.

The collaboration agreement between Voronezh State University and the Republic of Kalmykia involves the joint development of mineral resources in Kalmykia. As part of this agreement, research will be conducted in the field of resource management and geology, and specialised staff will be trained. For example, over the course of the year, VSU and the Ministry of Environment of Kalmykia are planning to study together non-metallic raw materials and mineral resources of Kalmykia and to prepare for geological prospecting aimed at the search, exploration, and estimation of titan-zirconium deposits in Kalmykia.
