Elizaveta Aleshnikova, a student of the Faculty of Journalism at VSU, won the International University Competition “Bitva Zhurfakov – 2022” (Battle of the Faculties of Journalism – 2022). The student presented her project in the nomination “TV Programme”, for which she won first place.
The short film by Elizaveta Aleshnikova is called “The Flame of Time”. The award-winning work by the student of the Faculty of Journalism of VSU addresses the themes of creativity and searching for ideas. According to the author’s idea, two characters from different epochs unknowingly help each other to solve their problems.
“The main idea for the work was inspired by my freshman initiation, Posva 2021. I made a few notes there, hoping to implement these ideas in my artwork. When I got home I painted a dark forest and a fire with acrylics. Some time later, I started working on the script,” said Elizaveta Aleshnikova, a student of the Faculty of Journalism at VSU.
The project was supervised by Valeria Kolesnikova, associate professor at the Department of Electronic Media and Speech Communication at the Faculty of Journalism. Elizaveta Aleshnikova was responsible for the organisation, video recording, and editing. The characters in the Flame of Time were played by the author’s friends outside the university.
“Winning the “Bitva Zhurfakov” competition is one of the most important events in my life, which gives me the motivation to develop, to produce more serious, more accurate, and more perfect works,” said Elizaveta Aleshnikova.
