On November 22, the regional stage of the All-Russian League of Lecturers competition of the Russian Foundation “Znaniye” took place in the main building of the Voronezh State University. This year, 127 applications were submitted from the Voronezh region, 21 people advanced to the second stage. During the face-to-face selection, the top three speakers from the region were determined, they were: Zoya Gryazeva, General Director of  Gubernia studio, Ilya Nalyotov, teacher of the Russian language and literature at Lyceum No. 4, And Lecturer of Morozov Voronezh State Forest Engineering University, Marina Osadchenko, founder of the chocolate school "Chocoschool". The winners will represent the Voronezh region during the final stage of the competition.

Our region is among the quarter of the cities that contended for the title of the best lecturers in Russia. At the moment, the second stage of competition has been held in 22 cities: Arkhangelsk, Vladimir, Ulyanovsk, Tambov, Volgograd, Simferopol, Blagoveshchensk, Kirov, Pskov, Petrozavodsk, Tyumen, Omsk, Makhachkala, Voronezh, Donetsk, Nalchik, Orel, Ufa, Grozny, Saratov, and Sevastopol. In total, 600 lecturers of different ages, experience and occupation have already addressed the experts.

According to Yuri Bubnov, Chairman of the Voronezh Regional Branch of Znaniye, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Psychology and Vice Rector for Strategic Administrative Management of the Voronezh State University, our region demonstrated excellent results in the annual competition. Thus, Nikolay Kodinov, the head of the Centre for Employment and Career Development of the National Academy of Additional Professional Education was among the winners of the first season of the League of Lecturers. Also, the lecturers of our region have repeatedly been winners of the large-scale competition.

“The League of Lecturers is a unique project that helps to show the talents of the participants and share their knowledge with a large audience. I would like all representatives of our region to perform with dignity, and most importantly, to be satisfied with themselves. The fact that the speakers have become part of the project is very prestigious, they have already made themselves known,” said Nikolay Kodinov, winner of the first season of the League of Lecturers.

This year, Voronezh State University has become a platform for the second stage of the competition. Among its participants were speakers who passed the remote selection from the total number of applications. About 20 lecturers were evaluated by 10 jury members. The expert council of the competition included philologists, linguists, sociologists, journalists, and PR specialists. The speeches of the participants were held in the conference hall and in the White Hall of the main building of Voronezh State University. The final part of competition day was the announcement of the results.

Sophocles said this amazing phrase: "The important thing is not to win but to take part". “For me, the greatest joy is that I became a participant in this event. In recent years, I have been listening to many well-known domestic lecturers. I was wondering why there are so few lecturers in our country who you want to listen to. We would like to have many professional speakers in Russia, and we strive to create a real community,” said Zoya Gryazeva, winner of the regional stage of the League of Lecturers, General Director of Gubernia studio.

Yuri Bubnov, chairman of the Voronezh Regional Branch of Znaniye noted that holding this event in Voronezh State University is a great honour for the university. Vice-Rector for Strategic Administrative Management of VSU also expressed hope that next year, taking into account the wishes of the federal office of the organisation, the event will be held at the highest level.

“I would like to congratulate the winners on a wonderful result and thank the organisers of the League of Lecturers. This is a very important event, which is dedicated, first of all, to the Day of Higher Education Lecturers. We celebrated this holiday on November 19th. In my opinion, to be a lecturer, you have to go through three stages. The initial one is retransmission, in which you transmit some information and knowledge; the second is a lecturer who provides not only theory, but also practical skills. The highest level is a lecturer who inspires. I wish everyone, especially our young lecturers, to have such teachers in their lives,” said VSU Rector Dmitry Endovitsky.
