On 3 December, students and staff of the International Education Institute took part in the opening ceremony of the Peoples’ Friendship House. The House was established at the Khokhol Recreation Centre with the support of the administration of the Khokhol district. As part of the event, the first open festival of the peoples “We are United by Friendship!” was held.
The event started with an exhibition of peoples’ culture. It featured items of everyday life and clothing, as well as national cuisine. The guests were introduced to the history of the represented peoples. After that, the opening ceremony of the festival “We are United by Friendship!” took place. Representatives of various peoples living in the Khokhol District, as well as students of the International Education Institute of VSU from neighbouring countries and far abroad performed at the concert.
“This international event attracts participants from all over the world, gives them the experience of communicating with representatives of other cultures and stimulates their professional and creative development. It promotes good morals and the principles of friendship and understanding,” said Natalia Vella, Deputy Director for Extracurricular Activities of the International Education Institute.
