Between 1 and 3 March, the 4th International Forum and Exhibition “Clean Country”, a national event dedicated to the implementation of the national project “Ecology”, was held in Moscow at Skolkovo technopark. Anastasia Zagrebina, a first-year student from the Faculty of Geography, Geoecology, and Tourism of Voronezh State University, took part in the forum, which was attended by over 5,000 participants from Russia and other countries, including over 300 speakers.
This year, the programme of the sessions included issues of technological and environmental safety, waste management industry, green finance instruments, and other problems. The forum highlighted the most pressing problems of our time: the modernisation of existing programmes of specialists’ training in the area of ecology; the development of scientific and practical research in the field of air purification and processing class I and II hazardous wastes; instruments for effective interactions between education, science, and economics.
The forum consisted of three sections, each of which took place on a separate day. The first section was devoted to the results of the five-year work within the framework of the national project “Ecology”. This section also announced important environmental events, in which Russian citizens can participate in the coming months. The second day covered the problem of waste recycling in everyday life: from household waste to construction waste. The third day was dedicated to the development of the Arctic, popularisation of eco-volunteering, and ways of personal impact on the environment. Alongside with the forum, an exhibition was held, at which the largest enterprises involved in the development of the “green” economy presented their innovative developments.
“This forum was an absolutely essential experience for me. Among the speakers were business representatives, politicians, and teachers from leading universities of the country. Experts provided a huge amount of very important information, they shared their experience and proposed new ways of solving the problems. The most important aspect of our daily life is waste recycling, this is why this problem was in the focus of all sessions of the forum, which characterises the scope of modern ecological problems as a whole”, said Anastasia Zagrebina.
