“This was my first experience of participating in a translation contest, and for a start I wanted to try myself with texts that I had already worked with. The journalistic style seems unusual to me due to the combination of special and emotional-evaluative vocabulary, which was the main difficulty in translation. Obviously, it was very interesting, such competitions provide an excellent opportunity not only to try and get experience, but also to learn something new,” said Olga Strelko.

“Literary translation is a pleasure for me. Therefore, despite the difficulties that inevitably arise when working with a text, student translation contests are a kind of outlet among everyday work and an opportunity to evaluate your own progress from course to course. I express my gratitude to the organizers of the competition for the opportunity to take part in the creative process, and I sincerely advise students not to be afraid and not to be embarrassed to participate in translation contests,” said Darya Tarasova.
