Dmitry Endovitsky, Rector of VSU, Vice President of the Russian Union of Rectors, took part in the second Russia-Africa Summit held in Saint Petersburg. On 27 July, the head of the university gave a speech at the panel section “Russia and Africa: prospects for the development of inter-university cooperation”.
Dmitry Endovitsky talked about the cooperation between VSU and African universities: today, VSU has five agreements with universities and scientific organisations. Voronezh State University is engaged in close cooperation with universities in Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, and Ethiopia.
Between 1970 and 2022, over 1,000 people from 43 African countries graduated from VSU. The majority of African students at Voronezh State University are from Morocco: 198 Moroccans have graduated from the university in 52 years. In 2022, 89 Africans studied at the university.
The participants of the forum discussed the problems and prospects of inter-university cooperation between Russia and African countries, as well as what kind of specialists are needed on the distant continent.
