Students from China and Indonesia have come to Voronezh State University in order to take part in the academic exchange program. Students from the Qingdao University of Science and Technology (China) will study the Russian language and culture for one year, while a student from the London School of Public Relations (Indonesia) will study three different areas at once: linguistics, management, and international relations.

The university's administrators and employees of the Department of International Cooperation met with international students. Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elena Chupandina gave a welcoming speech. She talked about the university’s experience in teaching international students and wished the students good luck at a new stage of their lives,

“I’m sure that during your studies at VSU you will not only get new knowledge, but also teach us a lot. Due to such intercultural communication we can build relationships that stimulate the development of cooperation between our countries in the field of economy, humanities, and other areas,” concluded Elena Chupandina.

Alla Akulshina, Head of the Department of International Cooperation, also welcomed international students and noted that the development of academic mobility as well as educational and scientific cooperation is a priority task for Voronezh State University.

Angelika Makarova, the main guardian of the VSU History Museum, showed the museum collection to international students. At the end of the meeting, the students received branded VSU souvenirs.

Last week, the students from China and Indonesia participated in the first Buddy Club meeting of this year which helps international students adapt to their new life and make friends more quickly and easily.

At the meeting, they met other international students from basic educational programmes of VSU, discussed literature, music, and sports, and also took part in a quest dedicated to the culture of China, Indonesia, and Russia. You can check the schedule of the club’s events in its official group https://vk.com/buddy_vsu. The next meeting will take place on 1 October.
