Between 20 and 23 September, the International Nuclear Forum Obninsk NEW was held in Obninsk at the Rosatom Technical Academy and the Institute of Nuclear Energy of National Research Nuclear University Moscow Engineering Physics Institute. The event was conducted as part of “Nuclear Education Week”. The forum was attended by third year students of the programme “Nuclear Power Stations: Design, Operation, and Engineering” Ilya Maslov and Kirill Chernykh, first year master’s degree students of the programme “Nuclear Physics and Nuclear Technologies” Dmitry Ilyushkin and Khan Nasib Rahman, as well as a PhD student of Department of Nuclear Physics Andrey Pisklyukov.
As part of the forum and in addition to academic sessions and seminars, the organisers prepared various activities for the participants: a sightseeing tour of the city, a tour of the world’s first nuclear power plant, and a tour of the Rosatom Technical Academy which trains both Russian and international specialists. The activities also included a climate game, networking with board games, technical tours, and workshops held at the Technical Academy.
“This forum was an unforgettable experience for us. I’m really grateful to all the organisers and supervisors of the event. They helped us and guided us in the right direction. I hope that this youth forum will give way to new meetings of young scientists engaged in nuclear energy and technology,” shared Andrey Pisklyukov.
